It’s time for the next letter in our SASSY acronym – what does the “A” stand for?
The A in SASSY Stands for Assertive.
The core idea behind being an Assertive Woman is that we must be assertive in order to effect change – both in our own lives and in society as a whole. Society tells us that to be assertive as a woman is something bad: we are labeled “bossy”, “shrill”, and “emotional” when we speak up or speak out …labeled, and then disregarded or discarded.

I’ve wanted to do a series of blog posts about what it means to be SASSY from the standpoint of our core values, our vision, and our mission. Today is a great day to start!
The First S in Sassy Stands for Smart.
The core idea behind being a Smart Woman is that we recognize a universal truth – we are stronger together than apart! Being supported and inspired by other women leads to supporting and inspiring even more women – it’s the beauty of the infinity symbol made manifest in our lives.

Women have always been a powerful driving force across the globe. When we are able to put aside our differences and embrace intersectionality, we become a force to be reckoned with! The concept of women standing up for and with other women isn’t new. History is full of fearless, determined, compassionate women who reached out to others around them to accomplish mighty things.
