I’ve wanted to do a series of blog posts about what it means to be SASSY from the standpoint of our core values, our vision, and our mission. Today is a great day to start!
The First S in Sassy Stands for Smart.
The core idea behind being a Smart Woman is that we recognize a universal truth – we are stronger together than apart! Being supported and inspired by other women leads to supporting and inspiring even more women – it’s the beauty of the infinity symbol made manifest in our lives.
Smart women surround themselves with the best and brightest people they can find, and are equally willing to accept guidance and to give it; to be both mentor and mentee.
Smart women are talented, but smart enough to know when our talents alone won’t quite do the job. It’s always a good thing to seek to increase our skills, we must but recognize one person alone will never be the “expert” in everything.
Smart women are resourceful enough to seek out the people who complement us as well as the ones who mirror us. We enjoy it when we find someone likeminded, but are open-minded to those who differ from us and find the worth in their beliefs as well.
Smart women are inclusive, reaching across the artificial social lines of ethnicity, culture, wealth status, age, shape, size and attire, finding the best in each-other regardless of background, politics, or creed.
Smart women commit emphatically and wholeheartedly to growth in both our personal lives and our professional spheres. We understand that knowledge is power!
Smart women recognize that building healthy relationships allow us to connect more deeply, more responsibly, and more positively to those around us.
Smart women put their own oxygen mask on first. We know we can’t help others without first ensuring our own health. We also understand that health is more than just physicality; we strive to provide self-care at physical, emotional, spiritual and financial levels.
Smart women forgive when necessary, understanding that to be human is to make mistakes, and we should show the same acceptance we would hope for in like circumstances.
Smart women embrace life lessons with gratitude, embrace every chance to grow life sends our way, and cherish the wisdom gifted us through our personal journey and the places where it intersects with others’.
