SSL Announces Event Sponsors, Attending Dignitaries
for its 2022 Scholarship Awards Ceremony
Cocktail reception on August 25 will include elected officials, businesses and dignitaries
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 10, 2022 — Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick (SSL) Foundation has announced sponsors, public officials and dignitaries who will be on hand to help celebrate SSL Day and its annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception on August 25 at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort from 6:00-9:00 pm. The event is now sold out.
Eight deserving young women will receive the Heidi Dennis Wonder Woman Scholarship, which provides financial educational assistance as well as mentorship for a year as part of SSL’s new LIFT Mentorship Program. Scholarship sponsors are Chase Roofing, 24-Hour Floor, Keith & Lee Washington, and Elena Hershey.
Additional sponsors are Pelican Grand Beach Resort, Title sponsor; Memorial Healthcare, Rick & Rita Case Automotive Group, American National Bank, The Group (Dr. Keryn Hughes, Brian Lippey and Allison Flynn), Music sponsor; and Lifestyle Media, Media sponsor.
Public officials expected to attend are Dean Trantalis, mayor of Fort Lauderdale; Steve Glassman, a Fort Lauderdale commissioner, Greg Chavarria, Fort Lauderdale city manager; and Marie Woodson, a Florida state representative.
Well-known dignitaries expected to attend are the SSL’s first two honorary chairwomen, Ina Lee, president of TravelHost Fort Lauderdale Magazine and Ramola Motwani, chairwoman of Merrimac Ventures, a prominent real estate investment and development firm. William “Bill” Brown, president of Fort Lauderdale’s Central Beach Alliance, a long time supporter of the foundation will also be in attendance.
Serving as emcee for the ceremony is Saira Anwer, a TV news anchor for WPLG-Local 10. Anwer is a two-time Emmy-nominated reporter who previously worked in Madison, Wisc., as a reporter and anchor.

About the Heidi Dennis Wonder Woman Scholarship
This need-based scholarship provides financial assistance to women who are pursuing higher education or vocational studies to support themselves and advance their careers. It was founded in honor of Heidi Dennis, who served as chairwoman of Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick Foundation for six years and was the former general manager of the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. Heidi was an industry icon in the hotel business and a true inspiration to all who knew her.
