FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., September 17, 2024— The Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick (SSL) Foundation held its 4th Annual Heidi Dennis Wonder Woman Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception on Tuesday, August 27, at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort from 6:00-9:00 pm. This year’s event honored ten exceptional women from Broward College with scholarships and mentorship.
As part of this ceremony, SSL recognized Tamara Chase as its inaugural Wonder Woman Champion of the Year. This award recognizes women who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to empowering and uplifting women and children. Whether it’s through education, community outreach, leadership, or mentorship, Wonder Woman Champions make a significant impact on the lives of others.

About Tamara Chase
Tamara Chase is CEO of Chase Roofing, as well as the owner of Shine of Ft. Lauderdale, a window and gutter cleaning, pressure washing and holiday lighting service. Despite starting Chase Roofing
With no prior experience in the industry or formal business training, Tamara has achieved remarkable success through her unwavering determination and unique vision. Under her leadership, Chase Roofing has experienced extraordinary growth, with revenues soaring from $1.5 million to over $16 million, reflecting an impressive increase of over 999%.
Tamara is dedicated to her employees and the community, and she takes immense pride in the team she has built. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 33 years, is a proud mother of two adult children and a proud Mimi to two granddaughters.
Her professional accolades include being named one of the Top Ten Roofers in Florida, receiving the Influential Women honor from the South Florida Business Journal, being awarded a national Pinnacle Award, and being honored at the 2021 Black Dresses and Blue Print: Celebrating Women in Construction event. In May, she was awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for her community involvement.
Tamara is a passionate community activist, supporting organizations such as SSL, Make A Wish, 211 Broward, Julian’s Fountain of Youth, and Dolphins Challenge Cancer. She is also the founder of Emerge!, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting young women to become the best version of themselves.
Her guiding principle, “Be the CEO your mom told you to marry,” has kept her moving through the thick and thin of business, and she now strives to bring other women alongside her in the construction industry.
