SSL to Hold the 3rd Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony & Cocktail Reception
On the 11th anniversary of empowering women and children, Suits, Stilettos & Lipstick Foundation will award 10 deserving women from Broward College the Heidi Dennis Wonder Woman Scholarship
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 28, 2023— Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick (SSL) Foundation will be honoring 10 deserving women attending Broward College and celebrating SSL Day at the 3rd Annual Heidi Dennis Wonder Woman Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception on August 30, at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort from 6:00-9:00 pm. The event co-chairs are Maggie Suazo and Dr. Shernette Grant, both distinguished business leaders.
Each recipient will receive a scholarship and be assigned an SSL mentor for the year as part of the foundation’s LIFT Mentorship Program. Each year, the event attracts many dignitaries, elected officials and business and community leaders. This year, SSL is honored to welcome Gregory A. Haile, J.D., president of Broward College; City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, City of Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Steven Glassman; and Ina Lee, president of TravelHost Fort Lauderdale and SSL’s first honorary co-chairwoman, who will deliver the welcome remarks.
While this event is currently sold out, contributions are gratefully welcomed and can be made at sslwomen.org/donate. All proceeds from this event support SSL’s initiatives aimed at empowering women and children through education, mentorship, and community outreach efforts.

About the Heidi Dennis Wonder Woman Scholarship
This need-based scholarship provides financial assistance to women who are pursuing higher education or vocational studies to support themselves and advance their careers. It was founded in honor of Heidi Dennis, who served as chairwoman of Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick Foundation for six years and was the former general manager of the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. Heidi was an industry icon in the hotel business and a true inspiration to all who knew her.

This program connects resilient women pursuing higher education or vocational studies with experienced women leaders to provide mentorship that supports personal and career growth goals.
