Creativity is one of the most important characteristics someone can have. Unfortunately, a creative mind is often left unappreciated. What you need to remember is that society constantly pushes people to conform and be average, like everyone else. You need to be more than that and use your creativity to spark new conversations, connections, and ideas.
Although creativity is significant, it can be difficult to reach. It doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but it is not impossible to ignite. I have found that there are places in my life that help inspire me. It can be either the people I am experiencing the place I am with, or the actual location.
When I go to the ocean, I find peace. In this serenity, I am able to fuel my creative brain. When I let go, my mind wanders and I can think abstractly. Allowing yourself time to have a moment like this is key to finding your creative side. Here are a few idea of places to go.
Nature is a great place to start because it helps to relieve the everyday stresses of our overscheduled lives. Allowing your mind time outdoors changes your way of thinking. Being outdoors lets your mind rest.
- This may seem odd, but sometimes the mirror is a great place to go. Looking at yourself and reflecting on your journeys will create nostalgia. Often this emotion can allow us to go back to a time when we were thinking differently and change our current creative patterns.
- Try going outside your comfort zone and doing new things. Sometimes all you need to do is relax and that may mean losing yourself a little bit.
- Spend time away from computers and technology. Technology is wonderful, but it can also be a huge disadvantage for our creative state. We can get absorbed into everyone else’s lives and we forget to think about ourselves. Get away from the screen and focus on a new activity.
Test out new places and use some of my ideas. You would be surprised by the places you may find in your SASSY life.
