Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor in our LIFT (Leaders Inspiring Future Trailblazers) Mentorship Program! Our mission is to help women from all walks of life to thrive by providing them access to education and mentorship. Your contribution as a mentor will greatly impact women in many ways and have a positive, long-lasting effect on generations to come.
To begin the application process, complete the application below, upload your bio and high-resolution professional headshot, and acknowledge by typing your name that you agree with the terms and conditions. Please note that if you do not answer all fields, upload the required documents and type your full name and date, your application will not be submitted.
Terms and Conditions
To Qualify You Must:
- Identify as a woman
- Currently or previously in a professional leadership role
- Current SSL member (click here to become a member)
Requirements for Application Completion
- Submit the LIFT Mentorship Program Mentor Application by June 16, 2023
- Participate in a panel interview via Zoom in June sometime between 6:00 and 9:00 PM. Interview invitations will be sent out via email. Applicants will be notified by June 30, 2023

Requirements if selected as a Mentor
- Commit to the mentor position from August 30, 2023 through July 31, 2024 (12 month period)
- Attend the annual Scholarship Award Ceremony on August 30th from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale
- Participate in a virtual Mentor Orientation on September 7th from 7:00-8:00 PM
- Meet with assigned mentee formally a minimum of 1-2 times per month
- Check in/interact with assigned mentee several times per month (including but not limited to Zoom, text messages, phone calls, or email)
- Participate in four (4) quarterly mentor check-in training sessions via Zoom
- Complete four (4) quarterly evaluations (electronic surveys)
- Participate in other sessions or meetings as arranged by LIFT Committee (Mentors will have input in selection of meeting dates and times)
Expectations
- Agree to act legally, morally and ethically
- Agree to foster SSL’s culture of inclusivity and sense of belonging for my mentee
- Develop an ongoing relationship with assigned mentee
- Act as a professional role model and be ready with a listening ear, advice, ideas and experiences to impact the life of a mentee
- Maintain professional boundaries with assigned mentee
- Agree to respond to periodic assessment surveys by the agreed upon deadlines
- Agree to inform SSL’s leadership team immediately of any concerns that may arise with my mentee or with my personal life that may interfere with me carrying out my mentor duties
- Agree to respond in a timely manner to all SSL communications related to this program (email, calls, text)
- Agree to report volunteer hours on the online form or by email as request in a timely manner that I will be provided
