Hope & Joy

For many children, the holidays mean excitement, laughter, and gifts under the tree. But for too many families, providing even a single toy can be a struggle.

For many children, the holidays mean excitement, laughter, and gifts under the tree. But for too many families, providing even a single toy can be a struggle.
For more than two decades, the Annual John & Elizabeth’s Toy Drive has helped ensure that thousands of children experience the magic of the season. What began as a simple act of kindness has grown into one of the largest toy drives in South Florida, thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, and the dedication of our incredible volunteers. To ensure the greatest impact, we partner with local schools and community programs that help us identify and reach children who need it most.
Together, we deliver hope, joy, and unforgettable holiday moments to children who need it most.
One toy can spark a smile.

Why Toys?
Toys are more than playthings. They are powerful tools for growth, helping children develop emotional and social skills such as empathy, communication, and cooperation, while also strengthening problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking. These skills build resilience, support academic success, and foster a sense of belonging so children feel seen, valued, and connected.
This belief is deeply rooted in both the work and heart of SSL’s Founder and Chief Inspiration Officer and co-creator of the John and Elizabeth’s Annual Toy Drive, Dr. Elizabeth King. As an educator and mental health professional, she spent nearly 20 years with Broward County Public Schools, specializing in dropout prevention and supporting at-risk youth. This experience shaped her deep understanding of how emotional well-being and early support directly impact a child’s ability to succeed in school and in life.
At the heart of the Suits, Stilettos & Lipstick Foundation’s mission is the belief that mental health, education, and connection shape stronger individuals, families, and communities.
It truly takes a village to make a difference.
We’re deeply grateful to our community, media partners, sponsors, and donors who have helped our village grow.
If you’re interested in joining us as a community partner, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Toy Drive in Action
A Legacy of Love That Began with One Simple Idea
More than two decades ago, at their annual Christmas party, our Founder, Dr. Elizabeth King, and her late husband, John Weaver, asked their friends to do something different. Instead of bringing host gifts, they asked for toys for children who might otherwise go without. That simple idea sparked what would become the “John & Elizabeth’s Toy Drive”.
What started as a heartfelt tradition in their home soon grew into something far greater than they ever imagined. Because of the generosity of their community, hundreds of toys became thousands. Over the years, it has grown into one of South Florida’s largest toy drives, bringing hope, joy, and holiday magic to more than 90,000 children.
And the story continues every year through the kindness of people who care.
You can be part of that story.
